"Intermediate Improv Acting" Class ($160/8 Weeks)
Intermediate Improv Acting is a class designed to prepare an improvisor to get onstage and entertain an audience. This class is a headlong leap into scenework, stories, and characters.
Since Intermediate Improv Acting prepares you to do improv in front of an audience, students should be familiar with the following skills:
- Making offers
- Saying "Yes And...!"
- Making up stories
- Playing with status
- Endowing yourself and your partner
- Creating objects and locations out of thin air
- Seeing what your partner sees
- Not worrying about being clever
This class pushes the following skills to really take your game to the next level:

- Being seen and heard
- Being aware of the stage "picture"
- Practicing with "space objects"
- Understanding focus

- Making your partners look good
- Justifying what has gone on
- Saying "Yes, and...!"

- Being aware of the narrative of a scene
- Getting yourself and your partner into trouble or "raising the stakes"
- Taking your time to get a feel for the beat
- Taking the emotional offer
- Observing your partners

- Exploring styles and genres
This class is open by invitation of the instructor or to those who have successfully completed the "Beginning Improv Acting" course material. Check the schedule for class times. Intermediate Improv Acting is an 8 to 16 week course, divided into 2 sessions for your convenience. Each session costs $160 and meets for 8 weeks at the same time each week.
If you would like to commit to more than than one session, we will extend a discount for advance payment as follows:
- Pay for 2 sessions and receive a 10% discount. $288 for 16 weeks.
